Enneagram
It is a personality typing system that has 9 types. It is believed that you are born with one type, but may take on attributes of the types that are on either side of your type, known as “wings”. During times of stress or growth, you can take on the less desirable qualities or desirable attributes of the other personality type that is connected by the lines in the middle. It is common to relate to attributes from all types, but you will find that one type will be dominant. One type is not any better than the other. There are also three centers; the body or instinctive center, the heart or feelings center, and the mind or thinking center. Each center has three types that are led predominantly by the attributes in the center. Additionally, the types in each center tend to be more affected by that center’s emotional theme. Each type has a particular way of coping with the dominant emotion of that center. This has been taught in both business management and spiritual environments. It will often be used to gain insight into interpersonal workplace dynamics as well as your personal relationships. Additionally, and most importantly, it gives us insight into ourselves, aiding in self-awareness, self-understanding, and self-development.
